When people hurt your feelings

I had a confrontatation this week with someone about something I knew nothing about. It was totally ridiculous and the person in question spoke so rudely to me it really made me angry.

I drove away from the encounter muttering insults under my breath and getting throughly worked up about it. It was really only a small matter and something that I believe that the person in question could have handled in a much more constructive way.

However, I realised as I drove along that I had two choices
1. Get throughly worked up
2. Forgive

I know it sounds simple but I suddenly realised that this person didn't deserve to have any more time occupying my brain.

I probably could have handled myself better- To be honest I got a bit defensive

But the simple fact was- whatever happened... I still had a choice to forgive and move on instead of stewing on it..

It felt so liberating!!

I saw this saying the other day which relates perfectly.. I am definitely adopting it as a personal motto...
